Overview

The Property Accountant reports to the Property Manager and executes on all all administrative, accounting, and operational reporting functions for the assigned corporate-occupier facility or portfolio.

 

The base hourly rate is aligned with market data and is estimated between $30.00 to $35.00 an (hour) with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus.  This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accurately inputting all approved and coded invoices into the accounting system.
  • Work closely with the property management team to determine which invoices can be paid.
  • Complete check runs and cash disbursement schedules for several different legal entities.
  • Responsible for having the checks signed by the appropriate signing officers.
  • Assist with mailing or paying invoices at the bank according to specific instructions.
  • Initiate monthly payments, including preparation of voucher for pre-authorized payments, mortgages, and management fees.
  • Assist in making bank deposits and bill payments at the bank.
  • Responsible for vendor inquiries.
  • Complete bank reconciliations for several bank accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, filing and storage of accounting records for several legal entities.
  • Assist with special projects or other reasonable duties that may become part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business, real estate, or finance.
  • Candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of related real estate accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of property management, facilities management and financial terms and principles is required.
  • Possesses the ability to analyze and make complex financial and business decisions.
  • Proficient in Yardi, AvidXChange, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in written and verbal communications, with the capability to create complex financial and business-related documents.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
