Overview

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving growth across Avison Young’s Studio, Construction, and Project Management service lines. This individual will lead prospective efforts, manage client relationships, and oversee the full deal cycle from initial outreach through to close. Working closely with senior leadership, service line principals, and the marketing team, this person will craft compelling proposals, coordinate pursuits, and represent Avison Young’s integrated capabilities to new and existing clients globally.

 

The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $90,000 to $110,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus.  This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and engage new client opportunities across target industries and geographies. Maintain a strong pipeline through proactive outreach and research.
  • Build and nurture long term relationships with key decision makers, ensuring exceptional client experience from first interaction through project delivery.
  • Lead pursuit strategy, craft tailored presentations, and collaborate with internal stakeholders on RFPs and capability statements.
  • Track industry trends, client portfolios, and competitor activity to inform business development strategies and identify new opportunities.
  • Partner with Studio, Construction, and Project Management teams to translate client needs into actionable proposals and project solutions.
  • Maintain CRM records, track progress on key pursuits, and prepare activity reports to support leadership visibility and pipeline forecasting.
  • Support leadership on business development initiatives including go to market strategies, revenue modeling, and cross service collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in business development, client management, or project delivery within the real estate, construction, or design industry
  • Strong understanding of the deal lifecycle from prospecting to proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with C suite and senior stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred)
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide strategic recommendations
