Overview

The Accounts Payable Manager oversees and leads the Real Estate Management Services (REMS) Accounts Payable team and functions on national basis in support of our Client’s real estate assets.  To be successful as an Accounts Payable Manager you should be able to oversee and ensure smooth and efficient daily operations. Ultimately, a top-notch Accounts Payable Manager will be highly organized and thrive under pressure. Position directly reports to the US Director of Property Management Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the Property Management Accounting Accounts Payable (AP) department and staff
• Coach and train AP employees
• Manage and motivate the AP team to deliver best in class service across a number of area's
• Manages the functions of vendor setup and maintenance, accounts payable processing, and the annual 1099 tax processing
• Work closely with the property accounting teams to monitor weekly cash flow and prioritize payables and scheduling
• Ensure that systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company policies while functioning with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage AP workflow within multiple accounting systems
• Respond to all vendor inquiries and correspond with various vendor approvers in multiple offices
• Oversee all payment transactions such as ACH, wires, paper checks, etc.
• Standardize procedures to generate efficiency in-house and create internal templates to be used to streamline the operations
• Be active on the customer service front and be quick and accurate with communication
• Lead and train team members in change management associated with AP processes
• Evaluate and improve key area process flows and system controls
• Initiate and implement best practices and process improvements
• Periodically evaluate accounts payable policies and procedures and make recommendations for best practices
• Maintain proper internal controls, ensure policies and procedures are well documented and followed, ensuring proper audit trails and approvals are in place and align with SOC 1 requirements

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
• Read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures or governmental regulations
• Write reports and business correspondence.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees, superiors, and customers.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management software. Word, Excel and Smartsheet experience preferred.
