Overview

As a Finance Associate at Avison Young, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our dynamic commercial real estate firm. This position involves a mix of financial analysis, reporting, and administrative support, directly contributing to the accurate and timely management of our financial data. The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $55,000 to $72,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus.  This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the collection, organization, and reconciliation of financial data from various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports, statements, and presentations, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and delivered on time.
  • Assist in reconciling bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records.
  • Help with the review, coding, and processing of invoices and expense reports, ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Provide support during the annual budgeting and reforecasting processes.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as requested by senior finance team members to support various business initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation. Assist in ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Utilize financial software and systems effectively for data entry, reporting, and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related business field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial formulas). Familiarity with other Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint) is also required. Experience with financial software or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
