Overview

As a Senior Market Intelligence Analyst at Avison Young, you will be a key contributor to our market intelligence team, responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis that informs our business strategy and provides a competitive edge. You will produce insightful reports on market trends, economic indicators, and competitor activity within the commercial real estate sector. This role is ideal for a highly experienced and analytical professional with a deep understanding of market dynamics, a proven ability to work autonomously, and a passion for turning data into actionable intelligence that drives business growth.

 

The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $70,000 to $80,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus.  This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.

Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct and oversee complex market research projects. Analyze a wide range of data, including property-level statistics, economic indicators, and demographic trends, to identify key insights and opportunities.
  • Produce and deliver high-quality, strategic market reports, presentations, and thought leadership pieces for internal and external audiences, including brokers, clients, and senior leadership.
  • Monitor and analyze competitor activities, strategies, and performance to provide a comprehensive view of the competitive landscape.
  • Utilize market data platforms and business intelligence tools to collect, synthesize, and visualize data effectively.
  • Partner with brokerage and service line leaders to understand their market intelligence needs and provide customized support for new business pitches and client presentations.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior analysts, assisting with complex questions and helping with their professional development.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve market intelligence processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • And of course, other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Urban Planning, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is a significant plus.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of progressive experience in market research, economic analysis, or a similar market intelligence role. Experience in the commercial real estate industry is essential.
  • Expert proficiency in business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required. Experience with commercial real estate data platforms (e.g., CoStar) is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to deliver compelling presentations.
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and organized individual who can manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively with minimal supervision.
