Overview

The Project Manager, Construction is responsible for all aspects of a project from the planning phase through final project completion and post construction. The Project Manager guides the client through a project by giving them the information to make informed, intelligent decisions. The Project Manager works professionally in collaboration with management, staff, clients, owners and vendors.

 

The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $130,000 to $150,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus.  This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity. 

Responsibilities

Project Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary client contact throughout the project.
  • Develop project budgets and schedules.
  • Chair project meetings.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Manage the design and documentation process to a budget.
  • Follow-up on outstanding items to ensure tasks assigned are completed.
  • Create Requests for Proposal (RFP) as needed for services and FF&E items.
  • Review and level RFP bids and proposals
  • Research client recommendations and provide results in a timely manner. Review requisitions for payment, change orders and other invoices for accuracy and process in accordance with company and client procedures.
  • Prepare reports, as requested, on the progress of the project for client (status, executive summary, open items) and present to client.
  • Report major problems or findings to immediate supervisor and provide recommendations for solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Delegate tasks to Project Coordinator.
  • Ensure internal project paperwork is accurately prepared, including AY contracts and invoices. Keep project files current with latest
    information.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • When requested, attend industry events to represent AY Project Management.
  • Develop relationships with consultants and vendors.
  • Develop relationships with AY brokers and outside brokers.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project.
  • AutoCAD a plus.
  • Ability to read and comprehend architectural and engineering plans, with ability to provide value engineering recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work well both independently and with a team. K
  • nowledge of budgeting and financial principles.

 

High school diploma or equivalent required. 2-year associate or professional degree preferred. 4-year bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 5 years project management or related experience. PMP certification a plus. LEED accreditation a plus.
