Overview

An exciting opportunity to work within the Project Management team at Avison Young. The successful candidate must possess strong administration and task management skills, exhibit excellent organizational skills, demonstrate an eye for detail, and must thrive in a fast-pace, team environment.

 

The base salary is aligned with market data and is estimated between $109,000 to $143,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonus.  This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity.  

Responsibilities

  • Support Sr. Project Managers on projects and assignments
  • Proactively manage project-related issues with clients and keep internal team apprised of updates and shifts in timeline on a weekly basis
  • Develop scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects
  • Coordinate activities of sub-contractors and relocation of technical functions
  • Interact and negotiate with contractors and subcontractors
  • Prepare/update project status reports, process purchase orders and invoices, update tracking reports and maintain files for due diligence and financials.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of all PjM technology as required for assigned projects.
  • Ensure accurate management of all accounts receivables to maintain a level not to exceed planned working capital charge.
  • Coordinate and track all Vendor RFP’s. Maintain accurate and consistent electronic files and documentation in compliance with internal governance and client audit requirements
  • Comply with all Avison Young policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practice.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or combination of relevant work experience and education
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, or Project Management
  • Familiarity with architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project, SharePoint document management
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to understand all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to Budgeting, and Scheduling in order to fully understand project implications based on minimal conceptual information
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to provide excellent service to executive-level external and internal client stakeholders
  • Organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage to several key-point metrics consistently and successfully.
  • Advanced proficiency in preparation and tracking of project budgets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to impact and influence to achieve desired project outcomes
  • Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed
  • Ability to proactively identify, mitigate, and track project risks
  • Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • PMP, accreditation is an asset
