Overview

Reporting to the Director, US Business Strategy & Development, the Business Development Associate supports the overall growth of the Professional Services team at Avison Young with a focus toward our Studio Services, Project Management services. This work includes but not be limited to: market research, prospect outreach, proposals, sales and marketing materials, and supporting teams with local business development and proposals.

 

 

This position would start at a base salary of $80,000 with the ability to achieve additional compensation through bonuses of up to $30,000.00. This salary range reflects base compensation for the position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including relevant education/training, experience, and internal equity. 

Responsibilities

  • Originate new business together with our senior professionals.
    • Help to drive the sales process with prospective clients from prospecting to qualifying, proposing and providing the opportunity for leadership to close the business.
    • Originate and cold call large numbers of prospects, driving sales and revenue opportunities.
    • Help to track sales opportunities through regular updating of entries in the CRM system.
    • Help our professional services teams to develop and target prospective clients across different service lines and geographies.
    • Help to build and maintain a robust and healthy pipeline to meet growth objectives.
    • Actively engage in the internal selling process working together with the BD Team and professionals.
  • Ensure our Professional Services team has market presence
    • Attend industry events as needed and assist in the continued development of Professional Services’ go-to market plan.
    • Attend our brokerage meetings across the US to foster integrated go to market approaches where rpactical
    • Participate in weekly sales meetings to review pipeline and strategy with the different market leaders.
    • Align events and marketing activities with key industry dates and events.
  • Work with our marketing and professional leaders to advance marketing materials and collateral
    • Provide input to those who prepare client presentations, proposals, pitches and collateral materials working alongside our marketing and professional teams
    • Create and maintain client databases, mailing lists and assist with the creation of marketing content.
  • Perform various administrative tasks

Qualifications

  • University degree and 1–3 years of related experience; real estate industry experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to show initiative and autonomy
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good administrative and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Team player with energy, initiative and good sense of humor.
